Percussionist/Composer
Louise is a multidisciplinary percussionist, composer, and musical director whose work spans contemporary music, early music, theatre, and film.
She has toured internationally with artists including Agnes Obel, Galya Bisengalieva, and Patrick Wolf, and supported David Byrne on his American Utopia tour. Her recording credits include Thom Yorke’s solo album Anima and a featured soloist role on the Assassin’s Creed film soundtrack.
A long-standing passion for early music has led her to perform hand percussion, voice and hammered dulcimer with ensembles such as the Academy of Ancient Music, I Fagiolini, La Locura, The City Musick, Joglaresa, Apollo’s Cabinet and The Guerrero Baroque Collective.
Louise’s theatre work includes roles as Musical Director at Shakespeare’s Globe, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, and the National Theatre, alongside performing as a percussionist for the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal Court.
Her original-music project, Minihi, created with co-writer Zands Duggan, represents her most personal artistic outlet. The pair released their debut track “Tokaido” on Deutsche Grammophon in 2020, followed by the albums Recaptures (2021) and Stasis Loops (2023). Most recently, they composed the score for the ITV/PBS adaptation of Tom Jones.
As a composer for theatre and dance, Louise has written scores for Shakespeare’s Globe, BBC Doctor Who: Time Fracture, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre, Trafalgar Studios, and Ballet D’Jerri. She is an Associate Artist at Shakespeare’s Globe.
Louise is also a founder of Beat Bath, a participatory sound bath experience, rooted in the ancient drum circle tradition, but re-imagined for the modern age.
Louise studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she received a first class honours degree, the Lady Mayoress Prize, and went on to become a fellow.
